From Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan

Itinary: Bishkek – Issyk Kol – Cholpan ota – Kochkor – Song Kul – Kazarman – Ozgen – Osh – Dostuk – Fergana – Margilan – Kokand – Tashkent – Khiva – Bukhara – Samarkand – Tashkent
Kyrgyzstan is a country rich in spectacular nature and nomadic traditions. You start your trip in Bishkek. The night with a host family allows you an insight into the everyday life. Guests sleep in traditional yurts on the picturesque Song Kul Lake and have the opportunity to explore the wild nature of Kyrgyzstan. Then you will continue your trip in Uzbekistan. You experience the country from 1001 fairy tale with its legendary cities like Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
Day 1. Home – Kyrgyzstan
Flight to Bishkek.In the morning meeting at the airport with our guide and transfer to the hotel for rest and breakfast. Departure for a city tour with a visit to Ala-Too Square, the Panfilov Park and the Frunze Museum. Then trip to the Ala-Archa National Park, in the chain of Ala-Too Mountains. Outdoor picnic. Back to Bishkek, dinner at a restaurant
Day 2. Bishkek
Itinerary along Issykkul, the second largest mountain lake in the world. They will then visit the Minaret Burana (11th century), surrounded by dozens of grave statues. Then drive to Cholpon Ata, where you will discover the Regional Museum and the impressive rock carvings from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages. 2 hours drive to the Konorchek and arriving in Issykkul. Dinner. Overnight at hotel
Day 3. Bishkek – Issyk kul – Cholpan ota
We take the road towards the lake Sonkul. On the way to Kochkor we visit the Kyrgyz crafts. Continuation of the journey to Sonkul. Here we visit the nomadic life of Kyrgyz lake Sonkul. Here the people still live in the traditional simplicity. We spend the night in the summer mountain pastures. Dinner and overnight in yurts
Day 4. Cholpan ota – Kochkor – Son kul
The possibility for horseback riding or hiking around the lake. The always friendly Kyrgyz families invite us regional products Airan (yogurt) and Kumi (national drink fermented mare’s milk) to taste. Or stroll along the lake. Night in a yurt.
Day 5. Son kul
After breakfast we continue to pass Moldo ASUU to continue our round trip to Kazarman. Picnic lunch. Arrive Kazarman, accommodation with a host family for the night.
Jour 6. Son kul – Kazarman
Breakfast with host families and then we make our way to Osh. On the way we make a stop for lunch in Jalal Abad in an Uzbek family. We continue with a visit to the mausoleum and the Munara minaret. Transfer to Osh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7. Kazarman – Ozgen – Osh
In the morning a short tour of Osh, which includes the sacred mountain Suleyman, walking through Osh and Navoi Park. Transfer at 11:30 to the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border crossing (Dostuk), customs formalities. We continue our journey to Uzbekistan. Transfer to Fergana. Visit the Al-Ferganiy Park, named in memory of the famous astronomer of the ninth century. Or even regional theater in the former residence of General Mikhail Skobelev. 1877 Overnight at hotel.
Day 8. Osh – Dostouk – Fergana
In the morning a short tour of Osh, which includes the sacred mountain Suleyman, walking through Osh and Navoi Park. Transfer at 11:30 to the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border crossing (Dostuk), customs formalities. We continue our journey to Uzbekistan. Transfer to Fergana. Visit the Al-Ferganiy Park, named in memory of the famous astronomer of the ninth century. Or even regional theater in the former residence of General Mikhail Skobelev. 1877 Overnight at hotel.
Day 9. Fergana – Margilan – Kokand
In the morning drive to the city Margilan to visit the fabric of silk Yodgorlik, manual and traditional production, stroll in the primary market and also see the mosque Toron (1840), in an elegant building Fergana style and madrasas of Akhmad Khodja. Departure to Rishtan and in the Tajik cities that are known for their many potters. Visit the ceramics factories. Since ancient Rishton is famous for its pottery. In the eight years from generation to generation the secrets of the masters of ceramics of local varieties of red clay and glaze from natural mineral pigments and ash of mountain plants. Great dishes « Lagans » bowls « pitchers » shokosa water tank for milk, decorated with glaze colors « ishkor » unforgettable turquoise and ultramarine is famous for Rishtan masters in many international exhibitions, exhibitions adorn many museums and private collections. They’re going to lunch after Kokand.
Day 10. Kokand – Tashkent
Visit the Khoudayarkhan Palace and Grand Friday Mosque of Khanate, built by Omar Khan, country-style, madrasa Amin Beg -built for a son Madali in 1830; the madrasas of Narbouta, built in 1796; the mausoleum of Khan-Modari, built in 1825 for the mother of Umar Khan. Then drive through the Kamchik Pass in 2450 m asl. Arrival in Tashkent. Hotel accommodation. Visit to Tashkent: Hasti Imam Complex: Barak Khan Madrassah (XVI century), the mosque Tilla Sheikh (XIXs.), Mausoleum Kaffal Scha ski (XVI).
Day 11. Tashkent – Khiva
In the morning transfer to airport for flight from Tashkent to Urgench. Transfer to Khiva. Hotel-accommodation. Guided tour of the town in the morning. Meeting with one of the most remarkable cities of Khorezm oasis. It was the capital of the Khanate in the seventeenth century and one of the great places to trade in Central Asia. Ichan-Kala, the historical center of pink clay walls surround, is a source of real wealth, the Palace of the Khans (the Kounja-Ark of the sixteenth century), the Friday Mosque, Pahlavan Mahmud Mausoleum and Madrasa Islom Khoja.
Day 12. Khiva – Bukhara
Next we drive in the early morning hours to Bukhara. Long days drive, it lies on the River Oxus (Amu Darya flow) in the footsteps of Alexander the Great in the desert. Late afternoon arrival at the hotel for two nights.
Day 13. Bukhara
Discover this city with the name « pearl of the desert ». It is an essential step of the Silk Road. The city is a real home of Islam in Central Asia and home to hundreds of Islamic schools. Many carpets and adornment have their glorious history of trade. The city has 365 mosques and 140 monuments of UNESCO! Visit Poyi Kalon Ensemble (mosque and minaret), Chor Minar and its four minarets, mausoleums of Ismail Samani (oldest Islamic monument in the world) and Chashma Ayub and two madrasas of Abdou Aziz Khan and Ulugbek, Kupelbasaren, Ark of emirs.
Day 14. Bukhara – Samarcande
We leave to Bukhara, Samarkand join. Accommodation in the charming hotel. You start with a tour of the capital of Tamerlane. It is an extraordinary city of the ancient Sogdiana, at the crossroads of major trade routes from China, Siberia, Iran and the West. Visit today Gur Amir Mausoleum, Tomb of Timur and his descendants, Registan Square with three madrasas. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15. Samarkand – Tashkent
In the morning visit the famous Bibikhanum mosque necropolis of Shakhi-Zinda, Ulugbek observatory (XVS). We see the fascinating personality of the little grandson of Tamerlane, poet, philosopher and astronomer etc. …. You have time in the oriental bazaar of Samarkand to stroll. In the late afternoon departure by train to Tashkent. Overnight in Tashkent
Day 16. Tashkent – Home
Transfer to the airport.
